The tour begins at the starting point in Oslo, where you’ll meet the experienced guide. The Oslo Fjord is a stunning natural feature located in the southeastern part of Norway, stretching from the North Sea to the city of Oslo. Renowned for its scenic beauty, the fjord is characterised by its calm waters, lush greenery, and numerous islands dotting its coastline. For the excursion, you’ll hop on ferries to take you to different islands in the fjord. While exploring the islands, you’ll enjoy a hiking tour along scenic routes.
The first stop of the tour is Bleikøya, a locals-only island less well-known to tourists. Here, you’ll experience the authentic island way of life. This island also offers amazing views of the city of Oslo from the sea. The next stop is Lindøya, another picturesque island. This island is home to around 300 brightly painted traditional wooden cabins. Many people from Oslo spend the summer months in this pretty village.
The final stop on the tour is at the historic island of Hovedøya. Here, you’ll explore the fascinating ruins of a nearly 1000-year-old abbey and 19th-century city ramparts. The guide will share facts and insights about the history of the island. You’ll also have the opportunity to swim in the refreshing waters of the fjord! The tour will end back at the starting point in Oslo.
