The adventure begins with pick-up from your accommodation in Stavanger (please specify your location when booking). You’ll meet your experienced guide and be transferred to Lysefjorden, a spectacular fjord located in Rogaland County. Upon arrival, you’ll board the comfortable boat and set off on your remarkable fjord cruise from Stavanger! The fjord stretches inland from the North Sea and is known for its dramatic cliffs, deep blue waters, and rugged wilderness. As you sail in the heart of Lysefjorden, you’ll be treated to stunning views of towering cliffs and cascading waterfalls.
Then, you’ll disembark the boat and walk on a short, scenic route to a traditional mountain farmhouse, nestled within the fjord wilderness. You’ll spend the afternoon experiencing authentic Norwegian cabin life – exploring the fjord, enjoying simple shared meals and learning more about Norway’s rich history and culture. After an overnight stay in the cosy farmhouse, you’ll start the next morning with a delicious breakfast. Then, you’ll prepare for your hiking trip to Pulpit Rock! This 12-km (7-mi) hike can be challenging, with varied terrain and steep sections. The expert guide will lead you throughout the excursion.
You’ll start trekking along Lysefjorden, passing secluded mountain farms, lush forests and crystal-clear mountain streams. Admire the marvellous views from Hengjande, a massive overhanging cliff, before your final ascent to Pulpit Rock. At the top of the rock plateau, you’ll be rewarded with other-worldly views of the winding fjord, glacier valleys, and the surrounding mountain scenery. After taking in this unforgettable view, you’ll hike back to the start for your return transfer to Stavanger.
