The Hrčavka Canyon is a natural attraction situated in the eastern part of Bosnia and Herzegovina, close to the town of Foča. It is part of the Drina River system and is surrounded by rugged mountain landscapes and dense forests. The canyon is known for its breathtaking natural beauty, characterised by sheer limestone cliffs, crystal-clear water, and lush vegetation.
To begin your canyoning trip, you’ll arrive at the base camp in Hum and meet the experienced guide. You’ll receive the necessary equipment (neoprene suit, neoprene boots, helmet, life jacket, anorak, waterproof bags, safety ropes), before travelling to the Sutjeska National Park in a Jeep. Along the way, you’ll enjoy stunning views of the natural landscapes. You’ll arrive at the Hrcavka River, which originates in the wooded areas of the eastern slopes of the mountain Zelengora and continues its flow through a narrow canyon.
As you gear up with the equipment, the guide will go through a safety briefing and provide information about the canyon. No previous canyoning experience is required, but you must be physically fit and able to swim. Once you are prepared, the canyoning adventure begins! You’ll navigate the smooth cliff and swim through the canyon’s narrow straits. Under the instruction of the guide, you’ll rappel down waterfalls, swim through crystal-clear pools, and navigate rocky terrain.
Along the way, you’ll stop for breaks to relax and take in the natural beauty of the region. The guide will help you to successfully overcome all of the obstacles that you face. Canyoning in Hrčavka Canyon provides an exhilarating and unforgettable experience! At the end of the tour, you’ll enjoy a scenic drive back to the base camp in Bosnia.
